These are the final cover designs for the fiction book Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami and the children's book Wonder by R.J Palacio. Norwegian Wood was made using card and Wonder was designed using paper straws. Shadows and lighting were the main focus for this project to create a 3D effect with the imagery. Norwegian Wood was created to look dark and morbid with the shadowed tree branches to go with the storyline and the use of the colour red was to represent blood but also the contradictory it represents passion and love. For Wonder I made the title and the image out of paper straws. The image is made to look like an abstract space helmet but it has an endearing approach of a child design to bring the main character into the cover with a sense of "Wonder".
